Window Decor & Decorations

We all want ways to make our homes stand out. We want that little thing that makes the whole room pop or catches your eye as soon as you walk into the room. We all want just a little part of our homes to look like the homes you see in all the great designer magazines.

Great window décor can do just that for you. A beautifully accentuated window will bring a meaning and ambiance to the room immediately. The usual problem with that is the fact that money doesn’t grow on trees. Here are some great ideas that aren’t going to force you to take out a loan.

Plain into Fun and Decorative

Burlap can be used in many ways. It can be decoratively draped and wrapped around beautiful curtain rods. Or, as shown here, it can be customized to your needs. You can stencil on them to fit the theme of whatever room you are doing. The texture and depth that is possible with burlap can be a lot of fun to explore It can also be a fun DIY craft with the kids, including the kids is always a fun time.

Drop cloths and plain colored draperies can also be used in the same way as the burlap. These are blank canvases that with a little bit of imagination can transform a room. They can be cut to fit your window and project. These are great alternatives to regular, boring curtains.

Decorators and DIY pros love the beauty and versatility of mason jars. They can be filled with water and fresh flowers like the ones shown here or to match your room. Sand and seashells are classic idea. Decorative rocks and gems would also create a beautiful light play. All it takes is a little time and creativity.

Reuse and Repurpose

There are many things that can be repurposed and become great window decorations. Anything from old scrap fabric to unused overcolored pillowcases. Anything that your creativity can create can become a beautiful window treatment.
